On Sunday, April 29th at 4:00 pm members of Ontario Basque Club
gathered at the Ontario Train Depot to commemorate the 70th
anniversary of the bombing of Gernika. As a gesture in
support of peace in the Basque Country the club planted an oak tree descended from the original sacred tree of

Documentary Film
A 45-minute
documentary film entitled
The Mark of Men: Survivors' Memories of the bombing of Gernika
featuring actual historic footage as well as interviews with
survivors was shown. During the film there were coloring pages for
children in the main hall.
A pot-luck dinner
followed the film.
